MEBO Burn Ointment was originally developed for the local and systemic treatment of burns. It has been found that the ointment, when applied topically to the burn wounds, liquefies and removes necrotic tissues, meanwhile protects and promotes the regeneration of residual viable skin tissues. During the entire treatment, wounds are kept in a physiological moist environment where all lives rely on for survival, in contrast to the conventional surgical burn therapy that requires the wound be kept in a dry environment.

MEBO wound repair is one of a range of ointments from MEBO which assist in natural healing and helps to minimize scarring. MEBO ointments are unique in that they assist in the natural regeneration of stem cells located at the bottom of the hair follicle. These cells are capable of producing not only the hair shaft but also the daughter cells that create the dermis and epidermis. By stimulating these cells to regenerate, the ointment supports the growth of new skin tissue. Research has shown the skin's natural healing process is significantly supported using MEBO ointment. MEBO is currently registered as a medicine in 24 countries and is used in over 20,000 hospitals worldwide.
